Addressing the foundation day celebrations of Maratha Seva Sangh organized in the capital Raipur today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha have a very old and rooted relationship. Geographically, politically as well as at the social level. The people of Chhattisgarh have a bread-daughter relationship with Maharashtra. In the times to come, this relationship will get even stronger in the future.
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel announced the beautification of the ‘Samadhi Sthal’ of former Maratha ruler of Chhattisgarh Shri Bimbhaji Rao Bhosale situated in Narra village of Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh. He said that this monument is in a dilapidated condition. Its beautification will be done according to the reputation of the great ruler. On the demand of providing land for the social building of Maratha Sangh, the Chief Minister said that like other Communities,Maratha Sevak Sangh would also be provided land at 10 percent price of collector guideline rate.
National President of Maratha Seva Sangh Shri Kamaji Pawar, Founder President Shri Purushottam Khedekar, State President Shri Ravindra Dani, Former MLA Smt. Rekha Tai, Relatives of former Maratha ruler Shri Bimbaji Bhosale Shri Madhoji Bhosale and various office bearers and members of the association including Mrs. Mangala Dani were present on the occasion. The Chief Minister inaugurated the program by garlanding the portrait of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the great social reformer Jyotiba Phule. He released the quarterly magazine of Maratha Seva Sangh on this occasion and also honored the talents of the society for excellent work.
Referring to the relations between Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that after independence, the area of Chhattisgarh Zone was also included in CP and Berar, whose capital was Nagpur. People of the Maratha community reside in large numbers in many cities of Chhattisgarh. The Dudhadhari Math of Raipur was renovated by the Maratha ruler, similarly the Bhosale kings started the public Dussehra festival at the 400-year-old Ravana Bhata Maidan in Raipur.
Referring to the historical background of Maharashtra, the Chief Minister said that many great battles were fought in Maharashtra, there is a mention of numerous brave Maratha warriors and powerful rulers. There was also a big movement in Maharashtra in the field of social reform. Savitribai Phule was the first teacher and Jyotiba Phule contributed extensively in the country’s social reformation. He further said that the great men and saints of Maharashtra had worked for the progress of the society and for connecting the society. The message given by our saints and great men needs to be taken to the entire country. He had done the work of uniting the country, so Let us unite everyone and defeat the breaking forces. Mr. Minister Shri Baghel said that society and politics are not separate. Politics is also a big social platform. People of all political parties live in all societies, problems related to our social life should also be considered at political level and efforts should be made towards their solution. The Chief Minister mentioned the ever-increasing inflation in this regard.
Mr. Baghel said that while emphasizing on the need to save PSUs from going into private hands, he said that when PSUs are not left then where will people get reservation. Giving the example of Bhilai Steel Plant, Mr. Baghel said that after the commissioning of this plant, people from all over the country came and worked there. This led to an up-gradation in their socio-economic status. Public undertakings are not only a means of earning profit, but the social concern of raising the standard of living of the people is also associated with them. The program was also addressed by the National President of Maratha Seva Sangh Mr. Kamaji Pawar, Founder President Mr. Purushottam Khedkar, State President Mr. Ravindra Dani and Mr. Madhoji Bhosale.
