Raipur 06 January 2022 / With the strong cooperation of people of the state, we will certainly defeat the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic, said Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday.
Keeping the view the sudden surge in number of Covid cases across the state, he has appealed people to strictly abide by the Covid-19 protocols and take necessary precautions to prevent spread of the infectious disease.
Stressing on the importance of getting everyone vaccinated, Mr. Baghel said “Vaccine is the strongest and effective weapon to fight against the coronavirus. I urge people who are not vaccinated yet to get their jabs at the earliest and request all the eligible teenagers to get vaccinated compulsorily.”
He added that we will achieve the same success in dealing with the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic as we have succeeded in dealing with the last two waves with the cooperation of all sections of the society. He said that the economic activities of the state will be continued by mandatorily taking all the necessary precautions.
The Chief Minister was addressing money transfer programme of Godhan Nyay Yojana organized at his residence office here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister virtually released an amount of Rs 5 crore 37 lakh to cattle rearers, women Self-Help Groups associated with Gauthans and Gauthan committees. This includes Rs 2 crore 78 lakh paid in lieu of purchase of cow dung in the last fortnight and Rs one crore 70 lakhs as dividend to Gauthan committees and Rs 89 lakhs to women SHGs. Payment of Rs 119.41 crore has been done so far in the lieu of purchase of cow dung from cattle rearers of the state. Besides, Rs 44.43 crore has been given to Gauthan committees and Rs 28.88 crore to women self-help groups as dividend so far.
“We are operating our state government’s ambitious scheme-Godhan Nyay Yojana-in mission mode, so that the women SHGs working in Gauthans can prepare products on the basis of market demand and the group can avail maximum benefits from its marketing. After beginning electricity generation project from cow dung, we are now heading towards manufacturing organic paint from cow dung”, said Chief Minister.
He said that in the last 1.5 years, Gauthans have become financially strong. The works done for making Gauthans self-sufficient has attracted the attention of the whole country. He also spoke about expediting the work of setting up of Rural Industrial Parks in Gauthan, besides training women SHGs to generate production according to the demand of market.
On the occasion, Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey thanked Chief Minister Mr. Baghel for timely release of funds to the cattle rearers under the Godhan Nyay Yojana. He said that Godhan Nyay Yojana is being discussed in the whole country and many states of the country are also heading towards adopting it.
“The day is not far when every Gram Panchayat of Chhattisgarh state will have Gauthan. Approval of a total of 10,591 Gauthans has been given, out of which 7,889 Gauthans are actively functioning in the state. With the commencement of functioning of all Gauthans, the income generating activities will increase. An income of nearly Rs 100 crore has been generated from dividend of Vermicompost and other products”, he said.
Stating that vermi-compost and super-compost are essential for agriculture, he said the inclination of farmers of the state towards vermi-compost has increased. Vermicompost manufactured in Gauthans has played a crucial role in meeting the shortage of chemical fertilizer DAP. He said that a provision will be made to provide grants under the government scheme for setting up machines like ‘dona-pattal’ making machine, Kodo-Kutki Processing Machine, Herbal Products Preparation and Oil Expeller Machine to promote income-generating activities in Rural Industrial Park of Gauthan.
At the beginning of the programme, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamal Preet Singh gave detailed information about the progress of Godhan Nyay Yojana. Special Secretary (Agriculture) and Godhan Nyay Yojana State Nodal Officer Dr. S. Bharathidasan gave a power point presentation regarding the action plan of Godhan Nyay Mission.
