Highlighted the contributions of Chhattisgarh in ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations
Raipur 13 April 2022/ Chhattisgarh Food and Culture Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat attended a conference ‘Amrit Samagam’ organized in New Delhi by Union Ministry of Culture, as a representative of Chhattisgarh Government. On this occasion, Minister Mr. Bhagat informed about the progress of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in Chhattisgarh. The conference organized under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was inaugurated by the Union Home Minister Mr. Amit Shah.
The objective of the conference is to ensure significant participation of States and Union Territories in the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’—an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence.
Minister Mr. Bhagat started his address with a popular saying of Bhagat Singh ‘every year fairs will be held on the pyre of martyrs, this will be the remaining sign of those who die for the country’. He spoke in detail about the programmes organized in Chhattisgarh under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Various programmes have been/are to be organized in Chhattisgarh from 12 March 2021 to 15 August 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. As a part of this initiative, people of Chhattisgarh were made aware of the incomparable contribution of the freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh.
Culture Minister Mr. Bhagat said that “in a bid to celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in a grand and proper way, in the development journey of our state, details of the four most important events related to the journey of independence of the country including District Political Conference of 1921, Non-cooperation Movement, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh’s revolt and Jungle Satyagraha have been made available to the Union Ministry of Culture.”
Speaking about the future plans, Minister Mr. Bhagat said that there is a plan to include Sirpur and Purkhouti Muktangan in ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ through the film scheme.
