Redressal of pension cases is being done online through e-Kosh online portal

Instructions have been issued for the disposal of pension cases within stipulated time limit

Raipur, 25 November 2022/ Redressal of pension cases of retiring government officers and employees is being done online in Chhattisgarh. For this, the ‘Aabhar Apki Sevao Ka’ Pension Management System is being operated from May 31, 2018. The pay scales recorded in the service book of the government servant are being approved by the Divisional Joint Director, Treasury, Accounts and Pension Office within the stipulated time on the basis of the entries made in the service book and the available records. Besides, pension camps are being organized continuously by the offices of Divisional Joint Director Treasury, Accounts and Pension in different districts of their respective divisions for quick redressal of the problems faced in the pension cases.

Officials said that the finance department of the Chhattisgarh government has issued finance instruction 28/2018 for quick disposal of pension-related cases. Under this, the time limit has been set for all the offices related to the disposal of the pension process. According to the instructions issued, it is mandatory to start the process of preparing the pension case of the employee concerned 2 years before the retirement of the government servant and send the same to the Divisional Joint Director, Treasury Accounts and Pension 3 months before. It is the responsibility of the head of the office of the retired government servant concerned to send the pension case. On receipt of the same, the Divisional Joint Director, Treasury Accounts and Pension resolves the case within 30 days and issues a PPO and the same is sent to the Treasury Officer. Along with this, the pensioner is informed through SMS.

In case of objection raised by the Divisional Joint Director, Treasury Accounts and Pension in any case, it is mandatory for the head of the office concerned to resolve the objection within 15 days and send the case back to the Divisional Joint Director, Treasury Accounts and Pension as per the financial instructions. The situation of delay in the processing of pensions arises to delay in the redressal of the objection raised by the pension office by the heads of the offices. For the redressal of pension cases, a helpline number is available in the public domain under the pension option under e-Kosh. Besides, in case of any problem in the redressal of pension cases, there is a system of online complaints for pensioners through login on the Abhar portal.
