Raipur, 30 August, 2023/ Mayor Mr Chung Heon-Yool of Iksan City, South Korea, was conferred with the Chhattisgarh State Emblem and a commemorative souvenir today by Mr MK Miki, the National Executive President of Indian Scout Guide Fellowship. The delegation informed Mayor Mr Yool that this is the official state emblem of Chhattisgarh.
It is noteworthy that India and South Korea share significant cultural ties. Historically, there is evidence of a royal wedding between a princess from Ayodhya and a prince from Korea nearly two thousand years ago. The princess had traveled to Korea by sea route, and in memory of this event, a park has also been established in Ayodhya. Chhattisgarh also holds a strong connection with Lord Ram, and this connection further strengthens the cultural bond between both the countries.
Recently, a 29-member Joint Indian Contingent from Indian Scout Fellowship and ATAS India, led by Justice Kalpesh Jhaveri, Chief Justice of Odisha High Court attended the 25th World Scout Jamboree 2023 held in South Korea. The Iksan City Mayor’s Office, in collaboration with the Iksan Culture and Tourism Foundation and the Department of Culture and Tourism Industry, South Korea, organized a tour of culturally and tourism significant places on August 4th and 5th, and hosted a night banquet in honor of the Indian delegation.
Mr. MK Miki, the National Executive President of Indian Scout Guide Fellowship, was granted honorary citizenship by South Korea, recognizing his contributions to the Indian Scout Guide Fellowship. Chairman of ATAS India Chhattisgarh Chapter Mr Prem Prakash Sharma and Deputy Chairman Mr. Jitendra Sakharé were also part of the Joint Indian Contingent of Indian Scout Guide Fellowship and ATAS India.
It is worth mentioning that prior to participating in the 25th World Scout Jamboree, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had extended his best wishes to the participants from Chhattisgarh.
