Chief Minister inaugurated the office of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission in the capital city Raipur
Raipur, 23 January 2022 / In the first meeting of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission held today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that youngsters in the state should be provided skill development training in various trades as per the demand of the industries and the market. He further said that production in Rural Industrial Parks should be done as per the market demand. Support and cooperation of higher technical institutions in Chhattisgarh should be taken to enhance the quality and certification of these products. Mr. Baghel also underlined the need to create a better eco-system for new startups, so as to provide better employment opportunities to youth
In this meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mr. Baghel at his residence office today, nature and functioning of the employment mission were discussed in detail. He directed the officials concerned to work expeditiously towards creating new employment opportunities and to review the work of the Employment Mission regularly. It is worth mentioning that Chhattisgarh Government has constituted Chhattisgarh Employment Mission, with an aim of creating 12 to 15 lakh new employment opportunities in Chhattisgarh in the next five years.
Chief Minister inaugurated the state-level office of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission in Raipur through video conferencing, on the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary today. At the onset of the program, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel paid floral tribute to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. On this occasion, Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister and Working President of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission Mr. Umesh Patel, Chief Secretary and Vice-Chairman of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission Mr. Amitabh Jain were present along with senior officials.
Chief Minister also took suggestions from the Directors of IIT, IIM, IIIT, NIT regarding development of employment opportunities. He said that higher education institutions should come forward for certification and standardization of the products made in rural areas of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister said that youngsters should be provided skill development training in various trades as per the requirements of local industries. Similarly, in the areas where new industries are being set up, local youth should be surveyed and trained as per their educational qualification and the requirements of the upcoming industries. Skill development training in various trades should be arranged in ITI, Livelihood Colleges and other such institutions. Chief Minister also asked the officers to conduct a survey in the markets of urban areas to see which products are well consumed. On the basis of the survey, products high on demand should be produced in the Rural Industrial Parks being developed in Gauthan.
Principal Secretary Skill Development, Technical Education, Employment and Chief Executive Officer of Chhattisgarh Employment Mission, Dr. Alok Shukla gave a presentation on Chhattisgarh Employment Mission in the meeting. He informed that development of agriculture sector, rural industrial park in Gauthan, Godhan Nyay Yojana, collection and value addition of minor forest produce has created employment opportunities on a large scale in Chhattisgarh . A large number of people have also got employment in government and private sector. As a result, the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh has decreased to just 2.1 percent.
Dr. Shukla informed that Chhattisgarh Employment Mission will establish coordination between various departments related to employment, including Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Forest, Industry, Village Industries, Urban Administration, National Rural Livelihood Mission, Skill Development Program, Gauthan, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Bari Scheme and Tea-Coffee Board. He said that the mission would work towards creating better employment opportunities through collaboration with private companies, branding and marketing in the employment oriented training, service and manufacturing sectors. Research on better products and services of Chhattisgarh would be encouraged under the mission to create better eco-system for startups. It was also informed during the presentation that eco-tourism, adventure tourism, home-stay, food processing, herbal medicine, handicrafts and Kosa silk would also be promoted to create a better market and new employment opportunities.

Bhartidasan, Director Industries Mr. Anil Tuteja, Director of IIM, Raipur Mr. Bharat Bhaskar, Director of IIT Bhilai Mr. Rajat Moona, Director IIT Nava Raipur Pradeep Kumar Sinha, N.I.T. Professor Manoj Kumar of Raipur, Deputy Secretary to the Chief Minister Ms. Soumya Chaurasia, were also present.
