Raipur, 03 February 2022/ MP Mr. Rahul Gandhi visited ‘Kalagudi’ at the Development Exhibition today. Kalagudi has been developed in Bastar district for conservation and promotion of the ancient arts such as dhokra(bell metal), wrought iron, tumba, sheeshal, wood and bamboo art, to which Mr. Rahul Gandhi referred to as a significant initiative for the development of Bastar art. In response to MP Mr. Gandhi’s question, it was informed that more than 500 artisans have been benefitted through Kalagudi. These families are earning an income of more than Rs 2 lakh. In Bijapur district, women engaged in bamboo craft and furniture making are selling their products in the markets of other states. They earn a monthly income of around Rs 2500 to Rs 3000.
