Chhattisgarh state has got only 1.71 lakh metric tonnes of chemical fertilizer against the demand of 2.32 lakh metric tonnes

Chhattisgarh state is not receiving even its allotted quality of chemical fertilizers

Centre is not supplying chemical fertilizers to the state as per the prescribed supply plan

Raipur, February 16, 2022/ Chhattisgarh state is not receiving even its allotted quality of chemical fertilizers as per the quota approved by the Central Government for this Rabi season. The state has received only one lakh 71 thousand 476 tonnes (74 per cent) of chemical fertilizers against the demand of 2 lakh 32 thousand metric tonnes, for this Rabi season till January 2022.

Chhattisgarh has got a plan for supply of one lakh 20 thousand 175 tonnes of chemical fertilizers from the Government of India in the month of February. However, half of the month has already passed and the state has got only 40 thousand 686 tonnes of chemical fertilizers, which is 34 per cent. Meanwhile, the Government of India has approved the allocation of 4 lakh 11 thousand tonnes of chemical fertilizers to the state of Chhattisgarh for this Rabi season. This includes 2 lakh tonnes of urea, 60 thousand metric tonnes of DAP, 50 thousand metric tonnes of NPK, 26 thousand metric tonnes of MOP, and 26 thousand metric tonnes of SSP.

Chhattisgarh has received one lakh 71 thousand 476 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers against the demand of 2 lakh 32 thousand metric tonnes for this Rabi season from October to January, which is 74 per cent of the demand. 61,121 MT of Urea has been received against the demand of 85,000 MT, 32,684 MT of DAP has been received against demand of 42,000 MT, 12,858 MT of NPK has been received against demand of 36,000 MT, 7,846 MT of MOP has been received against demand of 19,000 MT and 50,000 MT of SSP has been received against demand of 56,967 MT.

According to the information received from the Directorate of Agriculture, 6526 metric tonnes of Urea against the demand of 8500 metric tonnes has been stored in Durg district and about 5514 metric tonnes has been distributed to the farmers. Similarly, 3070 metric tonnes of DAP against the demand of 3300 metric tonnes has been distributed. 181 metric tonnes of urea, 360 metric tonnes of DAP and 244 metric tonnes of potash are currently stored in the collection centers (marketing associations) established in the district. Directions have been given to make available the same to the cooperative societies.

Similarly, against the demand of 14,300 metric tonnes of urea for Bilaspur district, 13,589 metric tonnes has been stored and 7796 metric tonnes has been distributed to the farmers. Likewise, 1666 metric tonnes of DAP has been distributed against the demand of 1800 metric tonnes. 1816 metric tonnes of urea and 324 metric tonnes of DAP are currently stored in the collection centers (marketing associations) established in the district and directions have been given to make available the same to the cooperative societies.
