After receiving skill development training under Project ‘Unnati’, these workers are doing their own business
Union Rural Development Minister will felicitate MNREGA workers of Chhattisgarh, can watch live broadcast on Facebook and YouTube
Raipur. 23 March 2022/ Six MNREGA workers of Chhattisgarh, who have transformed their lives with the skill development training provided under Project ‘Unnati’, will be felicitated by Government of India on 24 March in New Delhi. These workers got 100 days of employment under MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) in the financial year 2018-19, and with skill upgradation under Unnati Project are now doing their own business. Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mr. Giriraj Singh will felicitate these workers of Chhattisgarh in a program to be organized at Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi. 75 such workers from across the country will be honoured in this program being organized by the Union Ministry of Rural Development under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Neetu Bai Sahu of Bhanpuri Gram Panchayat of Dhamtari development block of Dhamtari district, who has become self-employed after receiving training for mushroom production under Project ‘Unnati’, and Phoolwanti Kanwar of Sarangpuri Panchayat, who started candle making work after the skill upgradation, Ms. Geetanjali Dhruv of Loharsi of Fingeshwar block of Gariaband district and Omeshwari Kanwar of Patora Panchayat, who have started goat rearing, Krishna Kumar of Podi Gram Panchayat of Sonhat block of Koriya district and Bimal Sao of Durgapali in Basna block of Mahasamund district, who is engaged in mobile repair work will be felicitated by the Union Ministry of Rural Development in New Delhi.
In the financial year 2018-19, these members from the families who got 100 days of employment under MNREGA have been prepared for self-employment with skill development training through the project ‘Unnati’. All of them were provided training at the Rural Self-Employment Training Institute (R-SETI) located in their respective districts. 75 beneficiaries of Project ‘Unnati’ are being honored from across the country at Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav event organized on the occasion of 75 years of independence of the country.
Project ‘Unnati’
“Project Unnati” is an ambitious program launched by the MNREGA Division of the Union Ministry of Rural Development, which is being operated in close coordination with National Rural Livelihoods Mission and MNREGA. The objective of this program is to provide skill development training facilities to the members of rural families working under MNREGA and make them capable of employment and self-employment. Under this project, training is provided for self-employment to any one member of the family who is between 18 and 45 years of age, who have got 100 days of employment in the financial year 2018-19.
