Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel launches the expanded version of Chief Minister’s Urban Slum Health Scheme by flagging off 60 MMUs
Raipur, 31 March 2022 / With an aim to provide people an easy access to health services in the close vicinty of their homes, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel flagged off 60 mobile medical units for all the municipalities and nagar panchayats of the state, under the expansion program of Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme.
Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Scheme was launched on 01 November 2020 to provide health services to people in urban areas at their doorstep. In the first phase, doctors have been providing their services through 60 Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) ambulances in all 14 municipal corporations. At the medical camps held under the scheme, beneficiaries are provided free consultation, treatment, medicines and lab test facilities through the Mobile Medical Units. Under this scheme, Dai Didi clinics have also been started to provide better health services to women near their homes.
As the first phase of the scheme turned out to be a resounding success, State Government has decided to expand the implementation of this scheme in all the municipalities and nagar panchayats of the state. In the next phase, health services will be provided to the people in the municipalities and city panchayats through 60 new mobile medical units. The scheme has been expanded to Panchayats as well.
On this occasion, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Charandas Mahant, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. P.L. Punia, Home Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu, Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria, Excise Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhendia, Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal, Food Minister Mr. Amarjeet Bhagat, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudra Kumar, several Parliamentary Secretaries and MLAs, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh and senior administrative officers of the concerned departments were also present.
