This Cancer Institute will be built at the cost of nearly Rs 120 crore
All kinds of cancer treatment facilities along with modern medical equipment will be made available under one roof
Raipur, 22 May 2022/ In a virtual programme held at his residence office today, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel performed bhumipujan of an ultramodern State Cancer Institute to be built in Bilaspur at the cost of Rs 120 crore. On the occasion, Chief Minister said that this State Cancer Institute will be equipped with ultramodern medical equipment and medical facilities to treat all kinds of Cancer, and its construction will be complete within next one year.
At this State Cancer Institute to be built in Bilaspur, cancer patients in and around Chhattisgarh would be able to avail good facilities for cancer treatment. The institute will have facilities for treatment of all kinds of cancer under one roof, along with state-of-the-art cancer ward with 100 bed capacity and a state-of-the-art ICU ward with 20 bed capacity.
Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdeo, Minister in-charge of Revenue and Bilaspur Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal, Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Rashmi Ashish Singh, MP Mr. Arun Sao, MLA Mr. Krishnamurti Bandhi, District Panchayat President Bilaspur Mr. Arun Singh Chouhan also joined the program virtually. MLA Mr. Shailesh Pandey and Chairman of State Civil Supplies Corporation Mr. Ram Gopal Agarwal, Principal Secretary Health Dr. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi, Director Medical Education Dr. Vishnu Dutt were present at Chief Minister’s residence.
In his address to the programme, Chief Minister said that in continuation of the efforts to expand health facilities in Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh Government has taken another important initiative with bhumipujan of State Cancer Institute. This institute will surely prove to be of utmost importance for the treatment of cancer patients.
Addressing the program, Health Minister Mr. T.S. Singhdeo said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has generously approved an amount of Rs 34.19 crore for the State Cancer Institute. In this way, an amount of Rs 51.84 crore has been received for this institute and its construction will be commenced soon. Revenue Minister Mr. Jaisingh Agrawal also addressed the programme, saying that Rs 34.50 crore will be spent for the construction of the building for State Cancer Institute and Rs.80.70 crore will be spent on the equipment required. All types of chemotherapy, such as-targeted, immuno, molecular, meteronomic facility will be made available in the State Cancer Institute free of cost. The institute will also have the facility of treatment state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine. Two Linear Accelerators, Cobalt Brachytherapy Unit, PET Scan machines, CT simulators, MRI machines and all state-of-the-art equipment for cancer research will be made available in the State Cancer Institute. Treatment for Breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral and throat cancer, lung cancer, colon and colon cancer, liver, gallbladder cancer, bone cancer, blood cancer will be provided under one roof. .
On the occasion, Principal Secretary Health Dr. Maninder Kaur Dwivedi gave detailed information about the State Cancer Institute. Collector Bilaspur Dr. Saransh Mitter conducted the program.
