It was a historic moment for this family of tribal farmers. All the residents of the village had gathered in the field of Suman Lal Usendi of Orchha. As soon they switched on the solar pump, everyone stared incessantly at the water pipe. The wait of about 30 seconds increased everyone’s heartbeat. Suddenly there was a stir in the water pipe and the water flowed out rapidly making its way into the field, while the tribal farmers jumped with joy and with folded hands of gratitude and relief and they started bowing down to the water. In the remote region of Abujhmad filled with dense forests, the happiness of the tribal farmers knew no bounds as government schemes reached there after 75 years of independence. Till now the farmers of this region used to depend only on the monsoon for cultivation but now with the help of solar pumps, drip lines for irrigation, they will be able to cultivate other crops throughout the year.
It is worth mentioning that on the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the Narayanpur district administration is conducting a survey of 246 notified villages, so that farmlands can be marked and measured according to the owner of these lands. Collector, Narayanpur, Rituraj Raghuvanshi said that till now 58 villages have been surveyed, and 2,500 farmers have received masahti pattas. This survey will also help in creating revenue records so the benefits of government schemes of public welfare reach the needy. KCC is also being done for the farmers so that they can apply for loans.
Survey Benefits for farmers
- Abhujmad is spread over 5 thousand square kilometers surrounded by dense forests and high mountains. Till now Abhujmaad was considered as an undecipherable land that no one could understand completely. Abhujmaad, being an extremely remote area of the state, even after 75 years of independence, government schemes could not reach here. But now on the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, masahati survey is being done in a rapid manner. Farmers will be able to register themselves in Farmers society and sell paddy by getting the masahati pattas. Now, Farmers will also be able to receive other state government public welfare schemes like-, the construction of ponds ,the facility of solar pumps for irrigation, agricultural schemes and horticulture schemes. Moreover, along with the distribution of high-quality seeds of various crops, guidance and training is also being given to the farmers from the Agriculture Department. Drip line is also being laid in the fields of farmers to facilitate irrigation.
