She showcased the Chhattisgarh model of justice and empowerment from Europe’s highest peak

On the glorious occassion of independence day, a daughter of Chhattisgarh namely Ankita Gupta hoisted the tricolor on the highest peak of the European continent, Mount Elbrus, to commemorate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on 15th August. It is worth mentioning that before leaving for Europe, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel had presented the national flag to this young mountaineer on 3rd August at his residence office. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel and Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar have congratulated Ms. Ankita Gupta on her grand success.
Ms. Ankita Gupta is originally from Kawardha. She is working as constable under Police Department in Kabirdham district,presently. Ankita has also been given a financial assistance of five lakh rupees by the Chhattisgarh state government to pursue mountaineering in Europe.
Mount Elbrus (West), the highest peak of the European continent, has an altitude of 5642 meters, or 18,510 feet, the temperature here ranges from minus 25 to minus 30 ° C and the wind speed ranges from 45 to 50 km. Even in these extreme circumstances, Ms. Ankita,with her dedication and perseverance made the 76th anniversary of independence more memorable by waving the tricolor at 5:43 am on 15th August. Reaching the top of the mountain summit, Ms. Ankita also displayed the Chhattisgarh model of justice and empowerment of the state government. After this, she hoisted the national flag on the second day on 16th August on the 5621 meter high Mount Elbrus (East) mountain located in the continent of Europe at 4:23 am.
Ankita Gupta said that this success is dedicated to the freedom fighters and martyrs of my country. She thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for his financial help in supporting her mountaineering . She said that everything was possible with the love and blessings of the people of the state. She also informed that in the month of January, she has completed the UT Kangri summit in Leh Ladakh, which had extreme conditions with a temperature of minus 39 degree Celsius and she successfully climbed the 6080 meter high peak of the summit. Her goal is now to increase the honor of the country by hoisting the tricolor in the top of the seven continents.
Ms. Ankita while expressing her gratitude towards Minister Mr. Mohd. Akbar said that she had demanded five lakh rupees from the volunteer grant(Sweccha anudaan mad) from Chief Minister Mr. Baghel through cabinet minister and Kawardha MLA Mr. Mohammad Akbar to participate in the mountaineering competition. Keeping special consideration of Chhattisgarh and nation’s pride, Mr. Akbar had urged Chief Minister Mr. Baghel to approve the amount expeditiously after considering her application.
