Assembly byelection for Bhanupratapur seat scheduled for December 5, counting on December 8

Model code of conduct comes into force in Kanker after the byelection announcement

Raipur, 05 November 2022//

The Election Commission of India announced a byelection for the Bhanupratappur assembly constituency which fell vacant after the death of the Deputy Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly and MLA from Bhanupratappur assembly constituency Mr.Manoj Mandavi. Voting for the by-election of Bhanupratappur will be held on December 5 and the counting of votes to be held on December 8. With the announcement of the byelection, the model code of conduct has become effective in the Kanker district.

Announcing the schedule, Chhattisgarh’s Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale said the notification would be issued on November 10, the last date for nominations would be November 17, the date for scrutiny of candidature would be November 18 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature would be November 21. Voting will be held on December 5 and the counting of votes to be held on December 8.
