Workshop on Drone Technology and its application for children

Five-day workshop was held at the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center

A five-day hands-on training cum workshop was organized from November 29 to December 03 2022 at the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. S. Karmakar, Director General of the Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology. In the workshop, the children learned about flying drones and their use including the technology behind them. The children said that drone technology is the technology of the future. They learned the technology and also try hands-on in flying drones. The workshop which was held at the Science Center is a better platform to learn the innovative techniques of science. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Project Director Dr. Shirish Kumar Singh.

The event began with two days of theory classes. Also, for the next three days assembling and drone flying session was held. A total of 50 students from ninth to the twelfth standard of Swami Atmanand Government Higher Secondary School, Lalpur and Government Higher Secondary School Amlidih participated in this workshop. It is worth mentioning that during the workshop on November 02, the children from the Pahadi Korva tribes of Jashpur also participated. They visited the Science Center and also learned about drones.

The trainers informed that two more hands-on workshops on the “Best Out of Waste” and “Aero Modeling” will also be organized at the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center in the next few days. The students along with their teachers and parents who attended the workshop have appreciated the 10-day robotics workshop organized at the Regional Science Center in the past. During this workshop, Engineer Amit Meshram (Scientist-D), Mrs. Pragya Kadam (Scientific Officer), Mr. Pradeep Kurre (Curator), Mr. Rajesh Kumar Parmar (Finance Officer) and other employees were present.
