Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel paid tribute to brave Indian soldiers for their bravery and sacrifice and wished the people of the state on ‘Vijay Diwas’. Mr. Baghel said that in the war between India and Pakistan in 1971, under the able leadership of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Mrs. Indira Gandhi and under the command of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, the Indian Army showed indomitable courage. Indian soldiers won the war on December 16 and thousands of Pakistani soldiers surrendered before them. The war resulted in a partition of Pakistan and a new country Bangladesh came into existence. This happened due to the determination and mighty leadership of Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Indira ji was not afraid of anything and nor did she let the morale of the soldiers go down. This victory made every Indian proud. India will always remain indebted to brave soldiers for their supreme sacrifice during the war.
