Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel reached Sonakhan village of Kasdol development block falling under the Bilaigarh assembly constituency as a part of his ‘Bhent-Mulaqat Abhiyan’.He made several important announcements for the development of this area which include starting of Swami Atmanand English medium school in Sonakhan, opening of a co-operative bank in Sonakhan, implementation of Veer Narayan Singh group tap water supply scheme for 44 villages of the area, Rs.5.6 crore for Eklavya residential complex located in Sonakhan, Rs.2.5 crore approved for rural infrastructure development in Sonakhan village, and Rs.50 lakh for various construction works to be executed in Arjuni, Bhusadipali, Mahkoni and Mahakam villages adjacent to Sonakhan.

Similarly, he announced to open a sub-divisional office (SDM office) in Giraudpuri, upgradation of the primary health center of Giraudpuri Dham as a community health center, construction of building for health centers in the district, widening and strengthening of Giraudpuri, Rajadeori to Baya access road including construction of bridge or culvert, widening and strengthening of access road from Charinda(Baya) via Baar to Turturia access road along with bridge and culvert, widening and strengthening of access road from Saliha to Kushgarh via Vijaymal to Sankra road, construction of a new building for high school of Tundra. 

Chief Minister Shri Baghel commenced the program by garlanding the portrait of Chhattisgarh Mahtari and took feedback from the villagers about the ground reality of the implementation of public welfare schemes and programs of the state government. On this occasion, Minister for School Education Mr. Prem Sai Singh Tekam, Parliamentary Secretary and MLA Mr. Chandradev Rai, MLA Ms. Shakuntala Sahu, Chairman of Textbook Corporation Mr. Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Farmers Welfare Council (Krishak Kalyan Parishad) Mr. Surendra Sharma, Chhattisgarh State Animal Welfare Board President Mr.Vidyabhushan Shukla, Rajak Welfare Board Mr.Lokesh Kannauje, District Panchayat President Mr.Rakesh Verma, Scheduled Tribe Commission member Mr.Ganesh Dhruv, District President Hitendra Thakur, District Collector Rajat Bansal, ASP Deepak Jha, and other public representatives were present.

During the Jan Chaupal, Mrs. Padmavati Patel of Manakoni told that her group has sold vermicompost worth Rs.3 lakh 71 thousand. From this income, ten women of her group have distributed Rs.25 thousand among themselves. They have deposited the remaining amount in the bank. The income earned from the sale of vermicompost has been used according to their needs. Some of the women in the group have also bought ornaments like anklets and mangalsutras for themselves.

Mr.Digesh Yadav, a farmer of village Bhansi in Sonakhan told the Chief Minister that he has five acres of land. His loan of Rs.75 thousand has been waived off. After the launch of the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, farmers are earning good income from farming. He has bought a Bullet motorcycle for himself and a necklace for his wife. The Chief Minister took feedback from the villagers regarding the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, loan waive-off, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiheen Krishi Majdoor Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, ration cards, operation of fair price shops.

Chief Minister pays tribute to Shahid Veer Narayan Singh

After reaching Sonakhan, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the first freedom fighter of Chhattisgarh, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh situated at Shahid Smarak. He also paid floral tribute to the life-size statue of Shahid Veer Narayan Singh installed at the memorial site. Along with this, the descendants of Shahid Veer Narayan Singh were also honored with ‘Shrifal’ and Shawl, and a cheque of Rs.10 thousand was provided to the family members.

Performed Bhumipoojan and inauguration of works worth Rs.125 crore for the development of Sonakhan

The Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhumipoojan of development works worth Rs.125 crore 75 lakh for Sonakhan under Bilaigarh assembly constituency of the district. He performed bhumipoojan for 73 development works worth Rs.99 crore 36 lakh and inaugurated 7 development works worth Rs.26 crore 39 lakh. He gifted a tricycle to Duleshwar Yadav of Sonakhan in the program.
