Amount of Rs 431.91 crore transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries
Dhamtari, 16 January 2023/ The dream of poor people to own a pucca house is coming true with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). Under this scheme, Rs 438.60 crore is to be released in a total of 36,550 sanctioned houses for pucca houses from the year 2016-17 to 2022-23 in the Dhamtari district. About Rs 431.91 crore has been released to the beneficiaries in total 35, 183 completed houses while 1367 houses are in progress. At present, the amount of first, second and fourth installments of about Rs 9.85 crore has been directly transferred to the accounts of 4,816 beneficiaries by the government. Action is being taken to provide installments to the remaining beneficiaries.
Similarly, Rs 6 crore 68 lakh 75 thousand will be released after the completion of 1,367 houses that are still under construction. It is worth mentioning that the concept of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) is “Pucca Chhat-Pakki Deewar”, under which the beneficiaries are being financial assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh per house. Along with this, a 90-day wage payment is also being given additionally under MGNREGA.
