Korea: Jhumka Jal Mahotsav 2023 to be organized in Korea from January 17

Kite festival, departmental exhibition, painting exhibition, performances by Bollywood and local artists to be major attractions at the fest

Korea 16 January 2023/ In a bid to promote the culture, tourism, and beauty of Korea district, a two-day long Jhumka Jal Mahotsav is being organized by the district administration from January 17. People will be made educated about the achievements of the district through departmental exhibitions. The programme will be inaugurated on January 17 by Food Minister Shri Amarjeet Bhagat. Home and District in-charge Minister Shri Tamradhwaj Sahu will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

Preparations are in the final stage for the successful organization of the festival. District Collector Shri Vinay Kumar Langeh inspected the programme venue today and took stock of all the arrangements there besides giving directions to the officials for discharging their allocated duties efficiently.

Event Schedule and performances:

On day one, on the inauguration of the festival on January 17, at 1:00 pm, the stalls set up by various departments will be observed after the inaugural programme. Following this, the chief and special guests will observe the kite festival and painting exhibition at Jhumka Island. Presentation of melodious songs by Chhattisgarhi artist Sushri Aaru Sahu at 2:50 pm and cultural presentations will be given by local artists at 3:40 pm. The performance of Chhattisgarhi artist Shri Sunil Manikpuri is scheduled to be held at 5:00 pm and Odissi dancer Smt. Purnashree Raut at 6:00 pm. There will be attractive performances by famous Chhattisgarhi artist Shri Anuj Sharma at 7:00 pm and Bollywood artist Shri Vinod Rathore at 8:00 pm.

On the second day of Jhumka Jal Mahotsav, on January 18, at 1:00 pm, after the welcoming of the chief and special guests, a performance of local artists will be held at 2:00 pm, a performance by Chhattisgarhi artist Shri Sanjay Surila at 4:00 pm. Performances will be given by Sufi artist Shri Nasir Ninder at 5:30 pm and by other artists at 6:45 pm. At 6:55 pm, the festival will conclude with performances by Chhattisgarhi artist Shri Sunil Soni and Bollywood artist Shri Sukhbir Singh.
