Chief Minister Mr. Baghel attends the ‘Dastan-e-Azadi’ programme

Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel attended the ‘Dastan-e-Azadi’ programme at the Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Auditorium in Raipur on Tuesday. The Durga Devi Education Society, Park Foundation, and Sanmati Welfare Society jointly organised the programme in collaboration with the Cultural Department and Chhattisgarh Private School Association. The programme showcased India’s independence history through mesmerising musical performances by Mr.Himanshu Bajpai, Dr.Pragya Sharma, Mr.Vedant Bhardwaj, and Mr.Ajay Tipaniya.
Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel marked August 8 as a significant day in India’s struggle for freedom, recalling that on this day in 1942, Mahatma Gandhi Ji initiated the Quit India Movement, a global model of the non-violence movement. Mr.Baghel emphasised the unforgettable contributions of freedom fighters in realising India’s independence, highlighting their vision of attaining liberty and envisioning a new India’s development.
Chief Minister Mr.Baghel highlighted that while fighting against Britishers, freedom fighters like Gandhi ji, Nehru ji, and Bhagat Singh ji also envisioned India’s future. Gandhi ji envisioned Gram Swaraj, and Nehru ji envisioned a modern, scientific nation. As Prime Minister, Nehru ji laid the foundation stone for modern India’s development, intertwining their freedom struggle with building a progressive nation.
CM Baghel lauded the ‘Dastan-e-Azadi’ programme centred around Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, highlighting the widespread participation of scholars and students. The programme engagingly portrayed the remarkable contributions of freedom fighters to India’s independence. These inspirational stories were heard from the elders in the home through storytelling, reminiscent of oral traditions. Continuing this practise, Mr.Baghel underlines the educational value of the ‘Dastan-e-Azadi’ programme, uniting generations through the impactful retelling of history. Chief Minister’s advisor Mr. Vinod Verma, senior citizens and intellectuals Dr. Rakesh Gupta, Mr. Rakesh Chaturvedi, Mr. Rajeev Gupta, Mr. Mukesh Shah, Mr. Vijay Chopra, Mr. Avesh Tiwari, and school students in large number were present.
