Raipur, December 18, 2023// Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the felicitation ceremony and general meeting of the newly elected MLAs of the tribal community organized by the Anusuchit Janjati Shasakiya Sevak Vikas Sangh at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital, Raipur. Chief Minister commenced the function by lighting the lamp. During the event, the Chief Minister was accorded a traditional welcome by the Sarv Adivasi Samaj with a Gajmala and turban, accompanied by the singing of a traditional tribal welcome song.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said “Today, on the 18th of December, we pay tribute to the most respected Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji on his birth anniversary. He gave the message of “Mankhe Mankhe Ek Saman” to society. It is a moment of great prosperity for our society in Chhattisgarh, where nearly 32 per cent of the population belongs to the Scheduled Tribe community. There was a collective expectation that a tribal leader would assume the role of Chief Minister. The expectations of our tribal society have been realized under the effective leadership of the Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi.”

He added that today, our nation is being recognized and honored globally, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our Prime Minister. Today, Droupadi Murmu Ji, a distinguished woman from our society, holds the highest position as the President of the country. Chhattisgarh state was established under the leadership of our former Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji. The move aimed to ensure the proper development and economic progress of the Scheduled Tribe people in the region. With an aim to ensure overall development for the Scheduled Tribes, he established the Tribal Welfare Department for the first time in the Government of India. Our government is most committed to the welfare of the Scheduled Tribe community, he said.

Shri Sai stated that it is our responsibility to fulfill every promise made to the people of Chhattisgarh under “Modi Guarantee”.

Announcements have been made for the benefit of every section of society, including providing Rs 12,000 annually to the beneficiaries under Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and announcing the purchase of paddy at Rs 3100 per quintal to support farmers. Keeping our promise to provide homes for the poor, in the very first cabinet meeting held on December 14, a day after the oath-taking ceremony, we decided to provide permanent houses to 18 lakh underprivileged families.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, MLA Shri Kedar Kashyap, MLA Shri Kawasi Lakhma, and other MLAs of the tribal community, as well as the State President of the Anusuchit Janjati Shasakiya Sevak Vikas Sangh RN Dhruv along with other dignitaries of the tribal community, were present.
