Massive sapling distribution campaign to commence in Jashpur, under “Ek Ped Ma ke Naam campaign” initiative

More than 200,000 saplings will be distributed across the district

Raipur, 14 July 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the mega plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Ma ke Naam” initiative in Jashpur district. He distributed guava saplings and letters to 10 beneficiaries of Mahatari Vandana scheme during a program held in Duldula.

Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized that this initiative, inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visionary campaign, aims to express gratitude towards Mother Earth and provide a conducive environment for future generations. He stated in the letter, “I am gifting a sapling to all our mothers and sisters. This sapling not only signifies our responsibility towards nature but also reflects our unbreakable bond with it. Trees provide us with oxygen, which is essential for our existence. Plantation enhances the environment and ensures supply of oxygen for human life.”

During the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai handed over a guava sapling to beneficiary Anita Lakda and asked her where she has planned to plant it. Anita said that she would plant the sapling in her courtyard. Shri Sai distributed saplings to the beneficiaries and urged them to care for these plants like their own children, so that future generations may benefit from this tree planting initiative.

On the occasion, Member of Parliament Shri Radheshyam Rathia, MLA Jashpur Mrs. Raymuni Bhagat, MLA Pathalgaon Mrs. Gomti Sai, and other dignitaries were present.

It is noteworthy that under the “Ek Ped Ma ke Naam‘‘ campaign, over 200,000 saplings will be distributed to Mahatari Vandana beneficiaries in Jashpur district. The district administration has made necessary preparations at panchayat level for this extensive distribution.
